Ok, you’ve heard it a million times now (or maybe a few thousand)
The term is basically becoming synonymous with having any website, webpage or online product? It’s the middle of 2014 and almost 2015 so now the web has changed substantially. So the days of hiding keywords in the bottom of your webpages in the background color is just not going to cut it in today’s dynamic web environment.
So What is SEO exactly anyway?
Here’s a quick video overview of what it means:
Now that you loved that simple bit of an explanation, let’s get to the harder stuff. Shall we?!
SEO is really different to everyone. It’s similar to what people think of as a good time on a Friday night or their weekend day off. It can be a simple “sit back on the couch” and sip your beer, or it can be the greatest electronic music festival like the Electric Daisy Carnival. Essentially both may be fun, but one is just you and the boobtube, and the other is thousands of people watching a glorious memorable event. And memorable is “EXACTLY” the key operator here when it comes to SEO in today’s internet.
You need to be MEMORABLE, you need to STAND OUT, you need to ENGAGE, and you to ENTERTAIN or SOLVE A PROBLEM immediately. If you don’t, then Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Ask or any other search engine knows how awesome or lame your party is, and if they aren’t happy with their “Friday Night” then there is nothing you are going to do or say, that will get them to come back and play with you.
No Search Engine Play = NO SEARCH TRAFFIC, and NO SALES, LEADS or AWARENESS.
It’s really a simple formula. But the real key is doing the right things to create a party that everyone wants to be at.
So what is good SEO? What is the right SEO? And really where do you start?
There are literally so many factors that are involved in creating the right search engine optimization campaign that is not only effective (meaning white hat SEO techniques), but long lasting and will stand the test of time.
As always, I’ll be providing some great insight into some methodologies, that will help greatly increase your brand and search engine traffic, but I’d like to hear what SEO means to you and what you are doing to help bring search engines to your party?
